Jamie Moore approached LeetGeek with a simple question: “How can my staff members on the road get access to our Windows-based financial software from their MacBooks?”

/ The Issue

Stowaway’s previous IT company had recommended a rather costly option and Jamie had lost faith with its suggestions. So, he ventured elsewhere and took a friend’s recommendation by contacting LeetGeek. Time was also a factor as two members of staff were about to set off to the east coast.

/ The Solution

LeetGeek immediately set about configuring the server, router and user accounts to permit remote-access for the users in question. Client software was installed on each of the MacBooks and the staff members were taken through the connection process. The question was then raised if they could access some files locally. Not a problem. VPN access was then configured on the server and connection preferences applied on the MacBooks.

Having been impressed by the speedy resolution of the remote-access issue, Jamie requested that LeetGeek take over the support of the Stowaway network. An initial audit of Stowaway’s systems also uncovered a number of additional configuration issues that have since been rectified. As Stowaway expands, LeetGeek is on hand to ensure that the IT infrastructure evolves and grows with the company.
